Temperature
  • Orchids require a constant and warm temperature of 16 degrees celsius +.
  • Ensure plants are brought inside as soon as possible and are never left to stand outside.
  • Position away from draughts (away from external doors) and direct heat sources (away from radiators).
  • When flower buds shrivel or drop before they have opened the plant has been recently chilled.

Watering
  • Orchids need watering once to twice a week depending on how warm your house  is.
  • Phalaenopsis indicate when they need watering. A correctly watered plant has green roots. When they need watering they are grey/white.
  • Never allow orchids to sit in water, after watering tip out excess water from pot covers.
  • Always use tepid water.
