Air Plant Arrangements

Make an Air Plant Arrangement

Air plants make an usual houseplant but are surprisingly easy to grow. They grow without soil and are easy to water. Why not make your own air plant display? Find out more below.
Air Plants
Step 1
These unusual plants grow without soil and need very little care.

First choose your air plants for your display.

Step 2
Next select the items for your display. You can use anything you choose. We have used shells and sea worn glass collected from the beach but attractive pebbles would look equally as nice. You can be as inventive as you like.

Step 3
Choose a glass container to put your decorations and air plants into. We have used a glass cup for our display. You can use anything that is clear, jam jars, vases, glasses or you can buy specifically designed air plant receptacles.

Step 4
Place your air plants where you want to create an attractive display and you are finished. There is no need to glue the air plants in place if you have a container that supports them.

Air plants prefer a humid atmosphere so a bathroom is ideal. If you place them in a dry atmosphere you will need to mist them with water. Rain water is best but tap water can also be used.

To water your air plants just throw them into a sink or bowl of water every week. Let them soak for 15 minutes then remove and allow them to dry out naturally on a piece of kitchen towel. Once dry replace them in your arrangement.
